Abu Dhabi Terminal A: 28 Airlines in Full Operation

Terminal A at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is now the exclusive hub for 28 international airlines, showcasing a substantial surge in operational capacity. This transition positions Terminal A as the primary facility for all flights arriving and departing from Abu Dhabi, boasting state-of-the-art amenities.

The successful relocation to Terminal A signifies a pivotal moment for aviation in Abu Dhabi, as the terminal is equipped to handle up to 45 million travelers annually and accommodate 79 planes simultaneously. The move is anticipated to significantly enhance the overall passenger experience by introducing seamless connectivity through features like biometric technology for streamlined screening and boarding processes. Additionally, Terminal A offers an expansive 35,000 square meters of retail and dining space.

In November, Terminal A is projected to host 7,669 flights, with 1,557 already operated in the initial two weeks. This number is expected to climb to 12,220 flights in December, catering to an estimated 2.29 million passengers. Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Interim Chief Executive Officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, expressed enthusiasm for this transformative phase, highlighting the introduction of cutting-edge facilities and a substantial increase in aviation capacity. Terminal A not only elevates the passenger experience but also provides international airlines with an opportunity to expand their presence in Abu Dhabi.
