Etihad Airways has launched a new stopover program, allowing travelers to enjoy a complimentary one or two-night stay in Abu Dhabi on eligible tickets. This initiative, in partnership with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, lets passengers add a stopover in Abu Dhabi when booking their flights.
Travelers can explore iconic attractions such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Qasr Al Watan presidential palace. Although the list of eligible hotels hasn’t been published yet, the program promises accommodation in “premier” hotels.
Even without utilizing the stopover program, Etihad passengers can use their boarding passes to access discounts and privileges at many of Abu Dhabi’s top attractions through the Abu Dhabi Pass.
To book a complimentary stopover, tickets must be purchased directly on Etihad’s website, selecting the Abu Dhabi stopover option. This program aligns with similar offerings from other major airlines like Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Singapore Airlines, enhancing Abu Dhabi’s appeal as a travel destination.
Etihad’s previous stopover program included both free stays at basic hotels and discounted rates at luxury hotels. The new program is expected to offer a range of hotel options between these tiers. The availability of stopovers on award tickets is yet to be confirmed.
