IndiGo Airlines has announced the launch of three new direct routes from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Mangaluru (IXE), Tiruchirappalli (TRZ), and Coimbatore (CJB) in India.
This expansion strengthens the connectivity between Abu Dhabi and key destinations in India, increasing the number of IndiGo-operated routes to 13. IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, has been steadily increasing its flight offerings from Abu Dhabi throughout the year. The airline, which now identifies simply as ‘IndiGo’ and no longer as a ‘low-cost carrier’, plans to introduce Business Class seats on select domestic routes starting in November, followed by further international expansion.
The announcement aligns with Abu Dhabi Airports’ recent report of a 33.5% increase in passenger numbers during the first half of the year, highlighting the growth potential with these new route additions.
