IndiGo Launches Direct Flights to Fujairah from two Indian Cities

India’s largest airline by market share, IndiGo, has announced the launch of direct flights from Mumbai and Kannur to Fujairah, UAE, starting May 15 and 16. These new daily routes mark Fujairah as IndiGo’s 41st international and fifth UAE destination, joining existing services to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.

To enhance passenger convenience, the airline will provide dedicated bus transfers between Fujairah and both Dubai and Sharjah, ensuring seamless connectivity across the region.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said, “We are pleased to introduce direct flights to Fujairah, a hidden gem in the UAE known for its natural beauty and economic potential. This launch reflects our commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting tourism, trade, and logistics.”

IndiGo emphasized that its coordinated flight schedules and ground transport aim to offer passengers a smooth, hassle-free journey. The expansion comes amid increasing calls from industry experts for an open skies agreement between India and the UAE to meet rising travel demand.

With a domestic network of over 90 Indian cities and now 132 destinations worldwide, IndiGo continues its aggressive international growth. Earlier this month, the carrier launched flights to Krabi, Thailand—its third destination in the country—along with upcoming direct services to Amsterdam and Manchester.

IndiGo has also recently added a leased Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to its fleet, marking its entry into the wide-body aircraft segment as it accelerates global expansion.
