Etihad Airways Introduces Direct Flights from Abu Dhabi to Boston

Etihad Airways marked a significant milestone with its maiden voyage to Boston, as the national carrier unveiled its latest route to the vibrant city, becoming the fourth US destination in its network.

Boston, renowned for its rich history, cultural heritage, and prestigious educational institutions, now welcomes travelers from Abu Dhabi via Etihad’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a testament to the airline’s commitment to expanding its global footprint.

Emirati Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, at the helm of this historic flight, expressed his pride in leading the inaugural journey, highlighting the importance of this milestone for Etihad Airways.

Joined by First Officer Khalid Al Naqbi, the flight crew embarked on the 13-and-a-half-hour journey, traversing over 10,000km of airspace, including captivating views over various nations en route to Boston.

Passengers on board were treated to a premium experience, with luxurious amenities and a specially curated Boston-themed menu, reflecting the cultural ties between Abu Dhabi and its newest destination.

The airline plans to increase the frequency of flights to Boston, with daily services on the horizon, catering to the growing demand for travel between the UAE and the United States.

Arik De, Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, emphasized the significant economic ties between the UAE and Boston, citing substantial investments and educational exchanges as key drivers of the route’s success.

The launch of the Boston route marks just one of many expansions in Etihad’s ambitious growth strategy, with new destinations like Nairobi, Jaipur, and Bali on the horizon, aiming to offer travelers unparalleled connectivity and convenience.

As Etihad Airways sets its sights on a future with an extensive network of 150 destinations by 2030, the inaugural flight to Boston signifies a promising start to the airline’s journey towards further global expansion and connectivity.
