Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 will fully reopen in early November

Following three and a half years of extensive engineering and expansion efforts, Changi Airport Terminal 2 is set to fully reopen in November 2023, with a wide selection of new shops, dining establishments, services, amenities, and more.

At present, a limited number of retailers are already open to the public. Nevertheless, in the weeks ahead, we can anticipate the unveiling of the complete array within Terminal 2.

The expansion project has augmented the terminal’s capacity to a grand total of 90 million passengers per year, and introduced an additional 15,500 square metres of space. Notably, automated check-in kiosks and bag drop machines are now available in the new Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST) zone within the departure hall. Furthermore, the immigration halls have two new automated immigration lanes, and automated Special Assistance Lanes have been introduced in both the arrival and departure immigration areas.

Other enhancements include the extension of pre-existing baggage belts, allowing them to accommodate a greater volume of luggage. Furthermore, the terminal now boasts upgraded security features.

The revitalised T2 draws inspiration from elements of nature, cultivating a tranquil and calming atmosphere. The design integrates natural materials into the wall cladding and flooring, complemented by an array of lush columns adorned with a diverse selection of greenery.

Starting in October, Terminal 2 will also host a total of 16 different airlines, including notable carriers such as Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines (serving routes to Southeast Asia, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka), Swiss, Air Japan, All Nippon Airways, Etihad, and Indigo.
